Where do you even begin? It all started when Artlist.io asked my buddy and filmmaker Sjoerd Wess to create a portrait of Kaska, a sound recordist from Iceland. The goal was to gain a completely new perspective on how you can see, feel and hear a scene.

I felt honored when Sjoerd asked me to tag along. I got to join as the b-cam operator, the behind-the-scenes photographer/videographer, and the photographer to capture this amazing journey.

We went out on a week long trip to Iceland. Kaska took us to some of the most beautiful places. But because she’s a local, she also led us to unique spots where no tourists were around that truly made the experience complete. My main focus was to capture photos of Sjoerd and Kaska, together in their element, working on their craft.
